The quartz Mountain Park is home to a nature center, hiking trails, swimming beaches, fishing, with Mt. Baldy, a rock climbers challenge. ATV trails with sand dunes are at the north of the lake. The lake is large, so bring your boat, kayack, canoe, or other motorized watercraft. The area is non-commercialized, but has a convenience store for groceries, ice, bait. A park ranger station is located inside the park to provide information, maps and suggestions for the area. If you should desire restaurants, there are suggestions with their menus located in a folder in the house. The closest restaurant is located at Quartz Mountain lodge, approx 1 mile from the home. There is a train that has a scheduled 2 hour ride close to the lake that you would need to call for date and tickets. This is the place for a quiet and beautiful get-away or a fun filled, activity packed vacation!

Our Quaint Cabin in the Park is just a short walk from the beautiful creek and downtown shops in Medicine Park. It has a huge deck that is great for outdoor dining, catching up with friends, and enjoying the breathtaking view. From the deck you can often times see deer on the mountain. The cabin has been completely remodeled on the inside with new appliances in the kitchen. Kayaks are available onsite for the the visitors to use during their stay.

The stairs are immediately on your left, but more about what’s up there shortly. First, let’s enjoy what’s down here because there’s plenty. Starting with the couch and coffee table that face the wall mounted widescreen TV. A great place to relax after a long day’s hiking or fishing in the sun. Across the room there’s a classic wooden dining table that seats four. Where better to get together and enjoy the meals you create in the kitchen? It’s fully equipped with everything you need for the times you decide not to eat out or use the BBQ, and for when you need to clean and dry your clothes following a hike or fishing trip. A huge fridge freezer provides plenty of storage space for anything you’ve been lucky (or skillful) enough to catch in the lakes, and for things you buy in the local stores. Two barstools provide a small seating area for two in the kitchen, ideal for grabbing a quick snack or coffee before another busy day. And there’s a door from the kitchen that leads out onto a decking area where you’ll discover the BBQ set, and the garden beyond. Also downstairs, accessed through a door under the staircase is the master bedroom that features a comfortable Memory foam Queen bed with plenty of closet space to store your things. You are sure to be impressed with the scenic vistas and historic sites. There are rock formations larger than a small city in this place. You could start the day with a fly rod and a largemouth bass, hike to a natural bridge by noon and end the day with a steak at the Old Plantation restaurant in Medicine Park. If you like watersports we have the famed, granite bottom, blue water Lake Lawtonka, just at the foot of the mountains. You would have to drive eight hours west to see anything like this. The Bunkhouse was located on an unnamed road, but not anymore. It is now on 'Bunkhouse Road' with an official Comanche County street sign as verification. Just behind us are three blue-eyed Gypsy Vanner horses that make their him on two adjacent pastures of the Windsong Ranch and directly behind them are a herd of alpaca. If you head 13 miles west, you will encounter the Wichita Mountains and your next adventure of hiking/biking/exploring/aquarium/buffalo viewing while visiting. Or head 20 minutes south to the Lawton/Ft.Sill area to see your special soldier or for some lucky casino hopping.
